AN AGED MAN IS CALLED TO THE GREAT BEYOND
Nels Peter Beck passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Anna Beck, in this city, Saturday, December 15, aged 91 years.
The subject of this sketch was born in Denmark June 1, 1842, and came to this county many years ago where he has taken an active part in building up the community in which he lived.
He reared a number of children who inherited the legacy of a strong character, sobriety and honesty. Those surviving him are Mrs. Ann Beck, Mrs. Kate Nelsen, Mrs. Julia Andrews and Evor Beck, all living in Washington county, and Hans Beck, residing in South Dakota. His wife and son, Chris, preceded him to the Great Beyond a few years ago, and other children died earlier in life.
The funeral was held at the Danish Lutheran church on Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. H. Nielsen and burial was made in the Blair cemetery. All of the children with the exception of Evor Beck, who was sick, were in attendance at the funeral.

OBITUARY
Mr. N.P. Beck was born in Denmark, and came to America in 1865, settling in this county about forty years ago. He was the father of seven children, four girls and three boys, five of whom are still living. The wife died February 3, 1920, and since that time the deceased has made his home with the children and at the time of his death was living with his daughter, Mrs. A.N. Beck.
Mr. Beck was a good citizen, always cheerful and happy and had many friends who were grieved to learn of his death which occurred last Saturday.
The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the Danish Lutheran church and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
Those of his immediate family left to mourn him are Mrs. A.N. Beck, Mrs. Kate Nelson, Mrs. Theodore Anderson and Mrs. Hans Beck, all of this vicinity, and Mr. Evers Beck of Lake View, S.D.
