WM. DAISS IS DEAD, AGE 58
NICKERSON FARM HAND NATIVE OF FONTANELLE; LUTHERAN RITES HELD
William H. Daiss, 58, resident of Washington and Dodge counties all his life, died unexpectedly last Wednesday in a Fremont hospital, where he had become a patient only a few hours earlier.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. Officiating was the Rev. M.A. Ritzen, pastor, and interment followed in the cemetery there.
Mr. Daiss was born July 4, 1889, on a farm two miles northeast of Fontanelle, and lived on the family homestead 25 years. At the time of his death he was employed on the Sherman Kerwin farm at Nickerson.
Survivors are his sister, Mrs. Hanna Ladd, Fremont; a half-sister, Mrs. Harvey Smith, also of Fremont; a half-brother, Lawrence Becker, Nickerson; two nieces and five nephews. Mr. Daiss’ parents, a sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
