Mrs. Mommsen Dies Near Birthday
Mrs. Andrew Mommsen (Emma) of Ft. Calhoun passed away at the Blair Community Hospital on Tuesday, December 8th, from a heart attack. She was born at Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, on December 9th, 1897 and would have been 67 years of age.
Mrs. Mommsen has lived in the Ft. Calhoun community for the past 30 years. She is survived by her husband, three sons, Gerhard of Atkinson, Nebr., Hans of Waterloo, Nebr., and Edward of Omaha; two daughters, Mrs. Phillip Lang (Everly) of Omaha and Mrs. Kenneth Chapman (Christol) of Nebraska City. Also four sisters, Mrs. Walter Jessen (Marie), Mrs. Floyd Jones (Helen), Mrs. W. S. Sukspors (Anna), all of Cedar Bluffs and Miss Margaret Hensen of Hamburg, Germany and one brother Hans Hensen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the St. John’s Lutheran Church on Highway 73 north of Omaha. Burial will be at Cedar Bluffs Nebraska. The Sievers Mortuary of Ft. Calhoun is in charge of arrangements.
