Services For Lena Monke To Be Today

Services for Lena Monke, age 95, will be held today, Thursday December 14th, at the Fontanelle Church. Mrs. Monke passed away on Monday, December 11th.

Lena Monke was born on September 30, 1877 near Fontanelle to Wm. Justine Ruwe. She was married to Henry S. Monke on March 10, 1896 and had two children, Anna Mae and Luther. They lived in the Fontanelle and Fremont area most of her life.

Henry preceded her in death in 1947 and Mae passed away in 1948. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

Surviving is a son Luther of Fontanelle, 12 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. at the Lattin-Dugan Funeral Home in Fremont with a 2 p.m. service at the Fontanelle Church with Pastor Otto Spehr officiating. Burial will be in the Telbasta Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Lallman, John Dick, William Monke, Robert Monke, Al Egbers, and Roy Barta.
