LONG-TIME CROWELL HOME RESIDENT DIED SUNDAY
Mrs. Elizabeth Collins Thomas, 85 years of age, a resident of Crowell Home since August of 1951, died Sunday at Memorial Community Hospital.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth L. Bing (Ruth) of Greenville, North Carolina and Mrs. Mildred Girard of Kiowa, Colorado and a grandson, Robert Bing of Omaha.
Mrs. Thomas was born October 4, 1875 at Port Jefferson, Ohio. Her husband, Charles W., preceeded her in death. Prior to coming to Crowell Home she served as a house mother at Kearney State College.
She was often referred to as the “doll lady.” She made dolls and sold them while at the Crowell Home.
The Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Funeral services were held at New Madison, Ohio.
