FARMED IN LYONS AND OAKLAND FOR 27 YEARS
Maryann Block, 81, of Herman, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. No visitation will be held.
Maryann Stulgies was born on March 12, 1929, in Bentley, Iowa, to Hattie (Dose) Stulgies.
On May 22, 1949, she married Bruce Block. They farmed in the Lyons and Oakland area for 27 years, and moved to Colorado in 1977, where they owned and operated businesses throughout Colorado. They moved back to Nebraska in 1993. Mrs. Block worked for Woolworths in Omaha.
She enjoyed doing crafts.
She is survived by three sons, Randall of Merritt Island, Fla., Brian of Denver, Colo., and Robert of Herman; daughter, Linda Gonzales of Blair; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Valera Greene of Colorado; and brother, Ernie Stulgies of Omaha.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
