SERVICES HELD FOR ELMER CHRISTENSEN
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 17, at First Lutheran Church in Fremont for Elmer W. Christensen, 80, of Fremont, who died March 15, 1983, at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont.
The Rev. Eric E. Christensen conducted the services. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
Elmer W. Christensen was born May 18, 1902, on the family farm near Orum, Nebraska. The family then moved to a farm near Kennard where he lived his early years. Later he began farming near Bennington and was there until moving to Fremont 15 years ago in March.
On February 21, 1934, he married Clara Penke of Bennington. While they lived near Bennington, they were members of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Bennington. After moving to Fremont, they were members of First Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Clara; and a sister, Marie Gottsch, of Elkhorn. Memorials may be given to First Lutheran Church of Fremont.
Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements for the services.
