Paula Y. Witt, 72

Paula Y. Witt, 72, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at her home in Bennington with her family by her side.

A memorial service is Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Omaha, (142nd and Ida), with a private inurnment. Rev. Lance Berndt is officiating.

Paula Yuvonne (Duncan) Witt was born on Febr. 2, 1942, in Osceola, Mo. She grew up in Clinton, Mo., and Omaha where she attended grade school and Omaha North High School. As a young girl, Paula enjoyed ice skating, roller-skating, dancing and dolls.

Paula and Larry blended their families on August 19, 1977, at Zion Lutheran Church in Omaha.

Paula was first and foremost a homemaker but she also handled the bookkeeping for the family construction business. She enjoyed fishing, floral arranging, shopping, going dancing and traveling. Paula loved to tend to her flower and vegetable gardens. She cherished her Grandma Green and their time together and she had fond memories of her aunts and uncles in Missouri. Paula treasured her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, never missed a special event and could always be counted on to remember every occasion with a card. She enjoyed relaxing on the porch with Larry, drinking her wine and visiting with neighbors. Paula loved fried chicken and sauerkraut on mashed potatoes and dinner out at one of her favorite steakhouses – Mr. “C’s” or Piccolo Pete’s – or China Buffet. Paula was loving, thoughtful, gracious, meticulous and honest to a fault.

Paula is survived by husband Larry; daughters and sons-in-law: Gina Woodring of Blair, Lorie and Mike Lasher of Blair and Chris and Andy Bajc of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Reichmuth Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
