Sgt. John Bailey, 27, Said Dead

FORMER HERMAN YOUTH, JAP PRISONER, REPORTED TO HAVE DIED

The war department; during the past week that Sgt. John Bailey, 27, former Herman youth who was a Japanese prisoner in the Philippines, died there recently.

His mother is Mrs. Frank Bailey, who is now at Raymond, Wash.

Sgt. Bailey enlisted in the Army in December, 1940. He is a nephew of Claude Frye of Southwest of Herman, and his grandmother, Mrs. Cass Frye, formerly of Herman.
