MRS. ED CHRISTENSEN BURIED MONDAY

Mrs. Karen Margrethe Christensen, 2065 Washington Street, passed away at Memorial Community Hospital Thursday, October 24th following a heart attack.

Karen Hansen was born to Hans Jacob and Anna Marie Hansen on May 10, 1883 at Fyn, Denmark. She was married to Hans Edward Christensen in Denmark where they farmed and were in the real estate business before coming to the United States in November, 1918. They farmed in Washington County, before retiring in 1946, and moved to Blair in March, 1951. Mr. Christensen passed away August 8, 1952.

She is survived by two sons, Harold D. and Tage; two daughter, Mrs. Elmer Betts (Harriet) and Mrs. Robert Jahnel (Venda) all of Blair. Also 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, two cousins, Miss Sena Bertelsen of Blair and Mrs. I. M. Andersen of Brush, Colorado. Four sisters and one brother are living in Denmark.

Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church Monday, October 28 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Pallesen officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery with the Campbell Mortuary in charge.

Pallbearers were six grandsons: Richard Jensen and Duane Nielsen of Fremont, Carl Nielsen of Lincoln, Larry Betts, Ronald and Curtis Christensen of Blair.
