G. R. Newkirk, 58 Died Monday Night
George Raymond (Bud) Newkirk, 1940 Lincoln street, died at the Blair Community Hospital Monday night. He was 58 years old, having been born October 17th, 1907 at Arlington, Nebraska.
Most of his life was spent as a farmer but he moved to Blair about 12 years ago. For a time he was employed by the Kelly Ryan Equipment Co. He had been ill but a short time prior to his death.
He is survived by his wife, Grace, and by his father E. V. Newkirk, of Fontanelle.
Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. A.J. Skov (Ethel) of Blair; Mrs. T.W. Buchardt (Pearl) of Arlington; Mrs. Alfred Anderson (Helen) of Blair; Mrs. Alvin Katt (Hazel) of Arlington and Mrs. John Hart (Opialee) of Blair.
Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist Church at 2 P.M. Thursday, April 28th with the Rev. Dale Westadt conducting the service. Burial, under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home, will be made in the Blair Cemetery with Hiram Lodge No. 52, of Arlington, conducting Masonic Services.
