GOOD SHEPHERD RESIDENT DIED HERE DEC. 18th

Calvin Christiansen, 80-year-old resident of the Good Shepherd Home, died at Memorial Community Hospital Monday, December 18th. He had been ill for three weeks.

Mr. Christiansen was born at the rural town of Admah, which was located north and west of Orum, about 15 miles northwest of Blair. During his active life he was engaged in farming.

After retiring, he moved to Oakland, Nebraska. He was a member of the Swaburg, Elim Lutheran Church.

He was also a member of the Cornelia Tillman American Legion Post at Hooper, having served in the Armed Forces in World War I.

He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. N. A. Greenwood, of Craig; Mrs. Julia Petersen of Blair and Mrs. Ella Lauersen, of Oakland. One brother, the Rev. E. R. Christiansen, resides at Tilden, Nebraska. There are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are being held today at the Elim Lutheran Church at Swaburg and interment will be made in the West Admah Cemetery west of Herman. The Rev. Lloyd Anderson conducted the service and burial was under the direction of the Warne Funeral Home of Hooper.
