Jerry Paul Norton, 44, of rural Craig died suddenly on Saturday, February 13, 1988, of injuries received while felling a tree north of Craig.

Jerry was born on May 21, 1943, at Farrar, Iowa, to William Steven and Doris May (Williamson) Norton.

Jerry was a true outdoorsman, and had been in the logging business since he was eighteen.

Survivors include four children: Jerry Paul Norton, Jr. of Franklin, Mary Sue Norton of Blair, William Charles Norton and Steven Lee Norton, both at home, his mother, Doris May Norton of Blair; two brothers; Tom Norton of Franklin, and Dan Norton of Lyons; one sister, Linda Norton of Blair and three grandchildren: Angela Jo, Jamie Nichole, and Alyssa Marie.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 16, 1988 at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah with Rev. Dr. Hal Smith officiating. Interment was in the Craig Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
