Mrs. Anna Beck (Lund)
Mrs. Anna Beck, nee Lund, was born in Skrvdstrup, north Schleswig, August 30, 1842 and daughter of Christen and Maren Lund of that place.
She was one out of a family of 12 children, of which but 2 are now living, both in the U. S.
After her native land had, by force, become part of Germany, she emigrated to this country and came to Clinton, Iowa, in 1867. Shortly after her arrival she was married to Mr. Peter Beck and made her home in Omaha, Nebraska. To this union were born 7 children, 3 sons and 4 daughters, of which one daughter has gone before her mother into eternity.
The surviving children of the deceased are Mr. N. I. Beck, Mr. Hans Beck, of Blair, Mr. Chris Beck, Cavour, South Dakota, Mrs. Andrew Nelson, Mrs. Anders Beck and Mrs. Theo. Anderson, of Blair.
She also leaves 35 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, her sister, Mrs. Ivar Johnson, of Oklahoma and a brother, Mr. Math Lund, of Benson, Neb., besides her husband, Mr. Peter Beck, with whom she was united in happy wedlock for more than 52 years.
Since the fall of 1889 they have had their home in Blair and vicinity. Grandmother Beck has been of poor health for many years, and suffered much especially for the last months of her earthly life, till long expected death made an end of her trials the 3rd day of February at 12:45 a.m. She was brought up in the Lutheran faith and remained in it through her long life.
She will be remembered by her husband as a true and faithful companion and by her children as a kind and loving mother.
