FORMER BLAIRITE DIED IN SEATTLE
George Mencke, a former Blair resident, 80 years of age, of Seattle, Wash., died recently at Seattle.
Mr. Mencke was born in Blair and moved to Lowell, Wash., in 1906. He has lived in Seattle since 1910. He was the owner and manager of the East Madison Lumber Co., a firm which he established in 1928, until he retired about 10 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Lydia; daughter, Mrs. James B. Goodfellow of Wenatchee, Wash.; sons, Edward and Ralph; two sisters, six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He has been a lifetime subscriber of the Blair Newspapers.
