Gordon F. Kempcke, 84
Gordon F. Kempcke, 84, of Blair, died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at Memorial Community Hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Gordon Frederick Kempcke was born Feb. 21, 1920, in Washington County to Paul and Elvena (Andreasen) Kempcke.
Gordon Kempcke and Enid Jensen were married May 4, 1941, in Blair. Mr. Kempcke served briefly in the army during World War II, and returned to Blair, where he worked at a hardware store owned by Bill Farnberg. He then began his farming career, working with his father-in-law, Chris Jensen.
Mr. Kempcke was a member of First Lutheran Church where he had severed on the Church Council.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Enid; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul Kempcke, and Phil and Mary Kempcke, all of Blair; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Mark Iversen of Sidney, Mont., and Kristie and Dan Thompson of Blair; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers, Art Kempcke of Blair, and H. Dean Kempcke of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eldred Kempcke.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SERVICES 10:30 am Tues. at First Lutheran Church, Blair. Burial Blair Cemetery. VISIT-ATION will begin 10 am Mon with family receiving friends 6-8 pm at Funeral Home.
