Note: although the obituary lists her death date as May 22, her tombstone in St. Cloud, Florida, shows a birth date of October 15, 1888 and a death date of May 23, 1979. Forest Lawn in Omaha does many cremations, but then returns the ashes to the funeral home for later burial.

Grace Smith Dies At Age of 90

Grace Smith, of the Crowell Home in Blair, died on Tuesday, May 22, at the age of 90.

Services were held at the First Methodist Church at St. Cloud, Florida. Memorial services will be at a later date with cremation at the Forest Lawn Crematorium.

Mrs. Smith was born at Kennedy, Nebraska, on October 15, 1888. Her husband, LeRoy Smith, Sr., preceded her in death.

Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. R.F. Sievers of Blair and a son, LeRoy Smith Jr of Rowland Heights, California. There are four grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. W.W. Matlock, lives in Ansley, Nebraska.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
