John P. Cochran died early Sunday morning, March 8, 1897, at his home, 902 Avenue F, Council Bluffs, of paralysis, from which he had been a sufferer for the past three years. He was born in Indiana, and was 56 years of age. Being a member of the Knight of the Maccabees, he was buried by that order, the funeral taking place from the family residence. He was one of seven brothers, five of who still survive him, among them W. T. Cochran of this city.
