Mrs. G. O. Nelson
In the passing of Mrs. G. O. Nelson, which occurred at her home, south of Ft. Calhoun, on Sunday, February 9, this community loses one of its beloved pioneer residents. She had been ill for about two weeks, he close of her useful life of 85 years coming peacefully on the day she always held sacred, the Sabbath.
Mrs. Nelson was born in Sweden on September 24, 1856, and came to America in 1883 and to Nebraska in 1886. She was married to G. O. Nelson on March 29,1888, and their entire married life was spent on the farm where they both passed away, Mr. Nelson’s death occurring seven years ago, since which time she and her son Otto remained on the farm. She is survived by her two sons, Otto and Henning, and a grandson, Henning’s son.
Mrs. Nelson was a woman of deep religious conviction, a wonderful mother, a helpful neighbor and friend, and her influence for good will long remain in this community.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in the Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian church, of which she was one of the first members. Rev. Frank Hansen, pastor of the Augustana Lutheran church of Omaha, conducted the services. Burial wasin the Ft. Calhoun cemetery.

MRS. G. O. NELSON DIES AT CALHOUN
Mrs. G. O. Nelson, 85, died Sunday, February 9 at her farm home south of Fort Calhoun, and funeral services were held at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian church the following Tuesday. Rev. Frank Hansen, pastor of the Augustana Lutheran church of Omaha conducted the services. Burial was in the Fort Calhoun cemetery.
Mrs. Nelson was born in Sweden on September 24, 1856, coming to America in 1883 and to Nebraska in 1886. Her marriage to the late G. O. Nelson took place on March 29, 1888, and their entire life was spent on the farm where they both died.
She is survived by two sons, Otto and Henning and a grandson.
