Thomas Ray Now Stationed In California
First Lieutenant Thomas D. Ray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hurley G. Ray of Rural Herman, has received a regular commission in the U.S. Air Force.
Lieutenant Ray, who previously held a reserve commission as a ROTC graduate, was named for regular status on the basis of educational background and outstanding duty performance as an Air Force officer.
The lieutenant is assigned at Los Angeles Air Force Station, Segundo, California, as an Aide-De-Camp to Lieutenant General Richard C. Henry.
A 1971 graduate of Tekamah-Herman High School, the Lieutenant earned a bachelor’s degree in 1975 and a master’s degree in 1976 from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Thomas Ray Is Killed In Accident
Captain Thomas Dean Ray of Herman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hurley G. Ray, was killed May 15, 1983, outside Los Angeles, California, in a scuba diving accident.
Captain Ray had been stationed at the Los Angeles Air Force Space Division since 1979.
