#1 Esther Korshoj, 97

Services for Esther Korshoj, 97 of Herman who died at her residence September 20, 1994 will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 24 at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Esther Marie Korshoj was born October 22, 1896 at Blair to Mads C. and Johanna Jensen Madsen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended the rural Sutherland School.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Herman American Legion Auxiliary.

She married Chris Korshoj in Blair March 22, 1922. In 1926, they moved to Herman from Blair where she resided until her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris on July 24, 1981; her parents; a son, Raymond; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Earl Korshoj; seven brothers, Elmer Madsen, Harry Madsen, Raymond Madsen, Walter Madsen, Edward Madsen, Albert Madsen and Robert Madsen; one sister, Ella Mencke; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by two sons, Earl Korshoj of Fremont and Frank Korshoj of Herman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Gene Megrue of Blair and Marilyn and Leonard Jackson of Fremont; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church or the givers’ choice.
