Leona L. Hilgenkamp, 88

Leona L. Hilgenkamp, age 88, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015, at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont.

Leona was born August 3, 1926, to Henry and Martha (Moeller) Wittmann in Ames, Nebraska. She graduated from Fremont High School and for the next two years she worked at Schweser's. Leona Wittmann married Floyd Hilgenkamp on September 28, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. They moved to Arlington where they lived and farmed for 60 years. Leona was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, taught Sunday school, and was a member of St. Paul's LWML. She belonged to the Happy Hour Extension Club. She and Floyd also enjoyed the Spinning Wheels Square Dance Club. Leona enjoyed gardening and playing dominos with her grandchildren.

Survived by sons: James (JoAnn) Hilgenkamp of Omaha, Dale (Nancy) Hilgenkamp of Arlington, Gene (Deb) Hilgenkamp of Omaha; grandchildren: Colton Hilgenkamp and special friend Lauren LeRouge of Republic, MO, Devin Hilgenkamp of Chicago, IL, Amy (Jeff) Hartman of Fremont, Laurie (Andrew) Hock of North Platte, Emily (Greg) Dickson of Ogden, UT, Lindsey (Dan) Newton of Omaha, Brent (Brooke) Hilgenkamp of Omaha; great-granchildren: Oliver LeRouge; Evan, Chase, and Leah Hartman, Asher, Hannah, and Vyla Hock; Cora Dickson; Audrey Newton; Brynn Hilgenkamp.

Preceded in death by her loving husband Floyd, her parents Henry and Martha, grandson Bryce Hilgenkamp, sister Agnes (Wittmann) Hilgenkamp, brothers Clarence and Arnold Wittmann.

Memorials have been established to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Monday, June 29, 2015, at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont. Family will be present from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Funeral Services are at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Pastors Rick Kanoy and Jason Duley will be officiating.
