Walter Timm Edgar Ohrt, 84, of Fort Calhoun , died Oct. 9, 2000 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 12, at Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. A Masonic service was held Wed., Oct. 11, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home. Interment was at the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.
Walter Timm Edgar Ohrt was born June 1, 1916 in Washington County to Claus and Ann Ohrt. He grew up in Washington County, and went to high school in Fort Calhoun.
He was married on April 19, 1941 in Omaha to Larleen Ruth Munro.
Mr. Ohrt, a farmer, lived and farmed in the Washington County area his entire life. He was a member of the Solomom Lodge #10 of the Masons, the Naomi Chapter #121 O.E.S., the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church, and the Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue Unit. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He will most be remembered for always being there to give a helping hand.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rodney and Cheryl Mayo of Omaha, son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Sherry Ohrt of Fort Calhoun , five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a brother, Albert, of Fort Calhoun, and special friend Lillian Prochnow of Fort Calhoun.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karleen.
Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun was in charge of arrangements.
