SERVICES ARE TODAY FOR THAD CURLEY
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at First United Methodist Church in Blair for Thaddeus L. Curley, 85, of Blair who died July 4, 1983. Dr. Gordon Patterson will officiate.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at Concord, Nebraska.
Thaddeus L. Curley was born on July 28, 1897, in Dixon, Nebraska, to John and Belle Cain Curley. He attended school in Dixon and Creighton, Nebraska, and later attended college in Boulder, Colorado.
He worked for Kurst Construction for many years and in April, 1955, he became associated with Standard Iron Works, Inc., as secretary-treasurer, a position he held until his retirement in September 1973.
He was a member of the Herman Masonic Lodge, the Order of the Eastern Star chapters in both Herman and Blair and had served on the Blair Golf Board for many years. He was also on the Board of Directors for Memorial Community Hospital in Blair for eight years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie; and one daughter, Mrs. John (Joyce) Grush, Alhambra, California. Four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, William of Spokane, Washington and Craig of Hayward, California; and one sister, Mrs. Emil (Ana) Hansen, Yakima, Washington, also survive him.
Pallbearers are Terry Grush, Voyne Harris, Wayne Lambertz, Edward Schewe, Gordon Vinton and R. d. Zimmerman.
Bette Kirk is organist. Tim Fischer is soloist.
Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for the services.
