MRS. OLSON, 88, IS DEAD
CATHOLIC RITES BEING PLANNED FOR LONGTIME HERMAN RESIDENT
Long a resident of Washington County, Mrs. Johanna Olson of Herman, 88 years old, died early yesterday in an Omaha hospital. She had been bedfast the past nine years.
The body was taken to the Truhlsen Funeral Home in Herman. The funeral, it is announced, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Officiating will be the Rev. Ralph O'Donnell, brother of the Blair pastor, and interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair. The rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Truhlsen Funeral Home.
Johanna Sullivan was born Febr. 10, 1866. She and Gilbert Olson were married Apr. 15, 1891, and resided west of Herman for 10 years. They came to Herman in 1901, where Mr. Olson was a lumberyard associate for a number of years for the old Crowell Lumber Co.
Mr. Olson died Jan. 5, 1936.
Surviving Mrs. Olson are three daughters, Mrs. Frederick Hughes (Regina) of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Madeline Hannon of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. A.H. Lowe (Eileen) of Herman. Preceding her in death were a son and a daughter. There are four grandchldren and six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. J.W. Lippincott (Maggie) of Blair.
