Violet Oltjenbruns, 88, of Blair, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 13, at Emmanuel Lutheran church in Tekamah, with the Revs. Jane Boeschen and Kenneth A. Jensen officiating. Interment was in the Tekamah Cemetery.
Violet Oltjenbruns was born June 19, 1914, in Oakland to Carl Johann Ossian and Anna Sofia (Nelson) Nelson.
On Dec. 12, 1933, she married Arthur Oltjenbruns at the Lutheran parsonage in Norfolk. The couple lived in Wausa, and from 1948 until 1970, they farmed near Lyons. In 1970, they moved to Tekamah.
She is survived by her daughter, LaDona Warren of Blair; son-in-law, Glenn Anderson of Laurel; five grandchildren and their spouses; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwain and Phyllis Nelson of Wausa, and sister, Arline Maly of Waverly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; daughter, Nadine Anderson; son-in-law, Bob Warren; four brothers and seven sisters.
Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, or Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Tekamah. Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah is in charge of arrangements.
