Farm Woman Found Dead by Husband
A 53-year-old farm wife was found dead Thursday morning of a gunshot wound. Acting County Coroner George Sullivan said the wound was self-inflicted.
The woman was identified as Mrs. Tracie Sunds, 53, One Hundred-second and Maple Streets. Her husband, James Sunds, told Mr. Sullivan he had left for South Omaha about 7 a.m. When he returned at 10 a.m. he found his wife in a shed, he said, dead of a small caliber gunshot wound in the right temple. A .22 caliber pistol was lying at her feet.
Mr. Sullivan said a note, apparently left by Mrs. Sunds, spoke of “financial trouble”.
The body was taken to a Bennington, Neb. mortuary.
