Levi J. Claborn Died At Herman Monday Morning

Levi J. Claborn, a resident of Herman, died there Monday morning, September 9th. He was stricken while away from home and the Blair Rescue Squad was summoned to take him to the hospital at Blair. He was dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The deceased was born at Birdtown, Tennessee, February 25, 1885, and had lived in Herman for a number of years. He was a retired Government Inspector.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy and by eight children, 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

There are four sons: L. J. Claborn, Jr., of Omaha; Billy Claborn, of Omaha, Robert Claborn, a member of the United States Air Force, and Eldred Claborn of Jacksonville, Fla.

The daughters are: Mrs. Ida Pyle, of Taylorville, Ill.; Mrs. Glen Green, of Dunlap, Iowa; Mrs. Earl Petersen, Springfield, Missouri and Mrs. Joe Avilla, of Omaha.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Herman at 2 p.m. today (Thursday). The Rev. Zack Kleinsasser will conduct the service. Burial will be made in the Herman cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary of Blair.

Casket bearers will be Charles Shumake, Dave Petersen, Bill Claborn, Paul Petersen, Mike Claborn and Greg Green.

Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Magill, Floyd Sheets, Howard Fink, Clem Grady, John Jackson, Vincent Lyons, Chris Korshoj, Dave Cummings and Ed Campbell.
