Gerald Sims, 82
Gerald Sims, 82, of Warsaw, Ind., died Sept. 1, 2006, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. No services were held and his body was cremated.
Gerald “Jerry” Sims was born June 8, 1924, in Ashland to Jesse D. and Maude (Van Allen) Sims.
He married Rose Ann Braun on July 17, 1953.
He served in the Army during World War II. He retired in 1983 as a butcher for Lee Brother Market in California. He had lived in California for 40 years, moving to Kosciusko County in 2002. He had also been employed at Hormel Foods Corp. in Fremont.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sandi Leiter of Leesburg, Ind.; one granddaughter ; a brother; four sisters; as well as a cousin, Louise Menking and a sister-in-law, Trudy Nilges, both of Blair; and cousins Raymond and Jeanette Schneider of Kennard.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
