Clyde Harper, 67

Clyde “Cal” Harper, 67, died Jan. 31, 2008, at his home in Dewey, Ariz., after a lengthy battle with cancer. His family was at his side.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at County Bible Church in Blair.

Clyde Harper was born June 28, 1940 in Omaha to Eugene and Doris (Durham) Harper. He attended South High School in Omaha. He lived in several parts of the country and was best known for his work as a carpenter and furniture maker.

Mr. Harper and his wife, Sheila, were married June 2, 1982 in Oklahoma. The couple soon moved to Los Alto, Calif., and eventually to Dewey, where they made their home.

He is survived by his wife and two children, Justin, 15, and Brianna, 12, of Dewey; three daughters, Laurie and Bridgett of Oklahoma, and Charity of Oregon, and a son, Troy of Kentucky; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and LaDonna Harper of Omaha; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Bill Hineline of DeSoto and Lynn and Patrick Newman of Oregon; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol (Melson) Harper.
