Published in the Blair Courier January 25, 1890. The Arlington County Cemetery records list the spelling of her name as Drusilla M. Hammang.
Druzilla M., daughter of Peter and Orilla Hammang, died at the home of her parents in Arlington, Neb., on the 21st day of January 1890, of consumption.
The above notice will not convey unexpected news to the many readers of the Courier, who have from time to time been apprised of her physical condition. It was in the great storm of January 13, 1888, that Drusie first contracted her disease being at school that day and reaching her home, only a short distance from the school house, wet and exhausted. Her trouble increased until two weeks ago, when the prevailing influenza seized her as its victim. A large congregation attended her funeral, and many were the tears shed at her bier. They young and talented, Mr. Ayer, delivered the discourse at the congregational church, which will be published in full in the Courier next week.
