Verda E. Roberts, 98
Verda E. Roberts, 98, of Craig, died Feb. 2, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Blair.
Verda E. Pinkerman was born Aug. 22, 1912, in Scottville to LeRoy and Maude (Wilson) Pinkerman.
On June 26, 1932, she married Joseph A. Roberts in Papillion.
Mrs. Roberts was a beautician and had her own salon in Omaha until she and her husband retired in 1972 and moved to Blair. They lived at the Cottonwood Marina from 1972 until 1998.
She was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in 1945 and the highlight of her life was her ministry and the promotion of the good news of God's kingdom.
She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Denny and Marilyn of Casseville, Mo.; daughters and son-in-law, Denise and Chuck Shaw of Craig, and Claire Berglund of Pasco, Wash.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, and a son, Douglas A.
