FRED HANSEN, 95, BURIED AT CALHOUN
Funeral services for Fred J. Hansen, 95 of Fort Calhoun were held Wednesday at the Kremer Funeral Home in Benson, with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Annie Jensen of Fort Calhoun, and Mrs. Lena Hoberg of Omaha; three sons, John S. of Bennington, Lawrence E. of Omaha, and George C. of Lincoln. There are 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hansen had been a farmer in the Bennington area.
Buried under name Fred J. Hansen
Actual name Johannes Frederick Hansen. He immigrated from Denmark in 1886. In 1900 he was listed in the Census as John F. but by 1930 he was already listed as Fred, and his tombstone reads Fred J. Hansen. In 1900 and 1930 he was farming in Union township, Douglas County, Nebraska
