Lloyd A. Dannen Sr., 82
Lloyd A. Dannen Sr., 82, of Tekamah, died April 3, 2016, at CHI Health Immanuel, Omaha, as he held hands with his beloved wife, Mary.
He was born Sept. 26, 1933, in Melbourne, Iowa, to John and Frieda Dannen. He married Mary Wiggins on June 21, 1957. They had three children: Lloyd Dannen Jr., Urbandale, Iowa; Kathleen (Dannen) Johnson, Blair; and Timothy Dannen, Boone, Iowa. They had seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Lloyd served our country in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 33 years. He also farmed outside of Missouri Valley, Iowa, starting in 1969. He lived in Tekamah after retirement.
Lloyd was a Mason, and served as Worshipful Master, the highest honor of a lodge.
Lloyd was proceeded in death by his parents; four brothers: Jake Dannen, George Dannen and Leonard Dannen, all of Rhodes, Iowa, and Max Dannen of Marshalltown, Iowa; and an infant sister, Betty, of Rhodes.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; sister, Margie Stewart, of Gilman, Iowa; sister, JoAnn Varum, and her husband, Lloyd, of Marshalltown; brother, Chuck Dannen, and his wife, Rita; sister-in-law, Norma Dannen, of Marshalltown; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be scheduled at a later date.
