Onetime Blairite, Mrs. Billig Dies

Mrs. Grace Adele Billig of Arcadia, California, who as Grace Catherwood, once lived in Blair, Nebraska, died June 2. Following services at Arcadia, the body was taken to Boulder, Colorado for interment.

Mrs. Billig’s father was superintendent of the Blair schools about 65 years ago. Mrs. Billig, an author had written several books.

FORMER BLAIRITE DIES IN CALIF.

Mrs. Grace Adele Billig, formerly Catherwood, died Sunday at Arcadia, California after an illness of several months.

The Catherwoods resided in Blair back in the early eighties. The father was one of the first superintendents of the Blair Schools and the daughter was a general favorite.

The family left Blair in the nineties. After leaving Blair, she graduated from the Colorado State Teachers College at Greeley, Colorado. She was a writer and the author of “Child of Faith” and “Child of Pity”.

Funeral services were held at Arcadia, California, and interment made in Boulder, Colorado.
