LOFTIS RITES ARE TODAY
FORMER MYRTLE BOVEE OF VACOMA, DIED IN OMAHA HOSPITAL MONDAY
Mrs. John Loftis, 69, resident of Burt and Washington counties for more than 60 years, died in an Omaha hospital on Dec. 4. Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Tekamah Methodist Church.
As Myrtle Frances Bovee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas A. Bovee, the deceased woman was born in Otley, Ia., on Jan. 24, 1875. She came with her parents to the Vacoma community in Washington county, about 1882.
On February 26, 1896, she was married to John Loftis at the Alder Grove church. The couple farmed in Burt and Washington counties until 1927, when they retired to Tekamah.
Surviving Mrs. Loftis are the husband; two sons, Park of Craig and Harold of Omaha; a daughter, Alice, at home; six granddaughters; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Gilliam of Tekamah and Mrs. Mae Yeaton of Middleton, Ky.; and one brother, Raymond Bovee of Fremont.
