Ethel L. Anderson, 94, of Kearney, NE, formerly of Blair, NE and Omaha, NE died Monday, September 12, 2016, at St. John’s Good Samaritan Center in Kearney, NE. Funeral Services are being held Thursday, September 15, 201,6 at 10:00 a.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney, NE with Rev. Evan Ash officiating. Burial following funeral services at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, NE at 3:00 p.m. Visitation is on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Ethel was born on December 23, 1921, in Johnstown, NE to Willard E. and Bertha A. (Kline) Ash. She graduated from high school in Omaha and later married Finley C. Anderson on June 28, 1952. To this union a son was born, Marten H. Anderson. Ethel worked a variety of jobs throughout the years, including preparing animal hair for brushes at Dinsmore, the Jewel Tea Co. as an order filler and Blooms Monument in design and layout for headstones. She also worked at Omaha Steel pushing 155mm shells for bombs up the production line during WWII. She enjoyed Extension club and also belonged to several bible study groups.

Surviving relatives include her Daughter-in-Law, Jimmi Ann Anderson, of Kearney, NE; Sister, Elouise Graves, and her husband, Jerry of Hickman, NE; Several Nieces and Nephews; and extended family.

Ethel was preceded in death by her Husband, Finley; Son, Marten Anderson; Brothers, Evan Ash and Eldred Ash; Sisters, Edith Aken and Erma Cavanaugh.
