David A. Jenkins, 74 years, of Arlington, Nebraska died Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.

David was born August 7, 1942, in Wisconsin to Edward and Hilda (Glander) Jenkins.He grew up in Randolph, Wisconsin until the age of 18 years and then joined the US Army.

He married Dorothy Dickhart on September 1, 1964. He lived in Omaha, Nebraska from 1964 to 1967 and then moved to Arlington. He worked for Rhea Cattle Company in Arlington and was employed by numerous drywall companies in the Omaha area. He was involved with Bell Creek EZ Riders 4-H Club, Nebraskaland Spinning Spokes, Tri County Saddle Club and Arlington Saddle Club, and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Arlington.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Arlington; sons, John Jenkins of Omaha, Jerry Jenkins of Fremont, and Dan (Edilia) Jenkins of North Bend, Nebraska; daughters, Cathy (Delmar) Driver of Ames, Nebraska, Carla Jenkins of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Elaine (George) Duncan of Delta, Colorado, and Ellen (Jess) Cross of Whitney, Nebraska; brother, Norman Jenkins of Wisconsin; sister, Hildagard Key of Wisconsin; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-four great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, David Hall; brothers, Orville, Eugene, and Willard; and daughter-in-law, Mary Jenkins.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2016, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. The Rev. Rick Kanoy and The Rev. Jason Duley will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha.
