Berneice V. Simmons, 87, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at her home in Omaha.

Private family services were held.

Berneice V. Rife was born Nov. 17, 1923, in Hastings to Glenn and Irene Rife. She was a 1941 graduate of Hastings High School.

She was married to John Simmons.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joleene and Ron Rewerts of Blair and Barb and Calvin Dyer of Lingle, Wyo., and son, Rick Simmons of Omaha; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John.
