Blair Man’s Mother Buried On Tuesday
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 7, 1979, at United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shelby, Iowa for Vinnie Frahm, 87, who died August 4, 1979 at Westmont Nursing Home in Logan after a long illness. The Rev. Gene Lee of Blair officiated at the services. Burial was in the Shelby cemetery.
Vinnie Frahm was born near Shelby, Iowa on February 25, 1892. She was the daughter of Ferdinand and Minnie Meister Brockmann and was one of two children born to them.
At the age of three, she moved with her family to a farm near Harlan. She lived there until she met George Frahm whom she married February 27, 1917 at Harlan. They had one son, Everette.
The couple farmed north of Harlan for two years, moving then to a farm north of Shelby. They made their home there for the next 47 years. In 1965, they retired from farming and moved into Shelby, living there until 1974, when they became residents of the Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley. She later moved to the Westmont Nursing Home in Logan.
Her husband, George, preceded her in death on June 24, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Carl.
Survivors include her son Everette and wife Bonnie of Blair, four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
Mrs. Rhonda Kinney provided the music for the services.
Pallbearers were John Johnson, Albert Pike, Keith Peterson, Floyd Freads, Allen Blumer and Delbert Pingel.
