RUSSELL HOIER DIED SUNDAY IN OMAHA HOSPITAL

Russell Hoier, well known Herman farmer, died Sunday, October 10th at an Omaha hospital. He was a patient at the Veteran's Hospital at the time of his death.The deceased, Russell Andrew Hoier, was born at Blair October 20, 1914 and would have been 57 years of age next week. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hoier, now deceased, who were long-time residents of the county.

He grew to manhood in the Herman area and was married to Luella Daniels, who survives him. The couple had no children.

He served in World War II and was a member of the Herman Jackson-Peck Post No. 274 in which he took an active part.

He is survived by two brothers, Earl Hoier of Herman and Howard Hoier of Fremont. A sister, Mrs. Henry (Ethel) Danielmeyer, lives near Arlington.

Services were held Wednesday, October 13th at the American Legion Hall in Herman. The Rev. Zack Kleinsasser conducted the service and burial was made in the Herman cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary of Blair. The Jackson-Peck Post Firing Squad provided a tribute at the grave.

It was suggested that memorials might be given to the cancer fund.
