Graveside services for Jean D. (Lund) Holmquist, 79, of Blair, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha. Mrs. Holmquist died at her home on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001.

Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Jean Delores Holmquist was born May 21, 1922, to Clyde and Florence (White) Vanderbeck. She graduated from South High School in 1940.

On Oct. 8, 1941, she married Edward Lund. Mr. Lund was killed in action on April 5, 1945, while serving with the U.S. Army in Germany.

In 1948, she married Walter Holmquist. He preceded her in death in 1995. Following his death, Mrs. Holmquist moved permanently to her home at the Cottonwood Marina.

Mrs. Holmquist worked for Pamida in Omaha for several years as an office manager, and retired in 1978. She enjoyed reading and watching sports on television.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Carrol Lund of Springfield, Mo., daughter-in-law, Lori Holmquist of Blair, and five grandchildren.

In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Van Lund, and a brother, Jack Vanderbeck.

Memorials are suggested to the Blair Rescue Squad.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
