FORMER BLAIR BANKER IS DEAD

Charles M. Hitchman, former Blair banker, died Sunday, March 29, at Spaulding, Nebraska. He was president of the Blencoe, Ia. State Bank which he had been connected with for many years.

Mr. Hitchman was President of the Farmers State Bank when it did business in the building now occupied by the Ray Hansen Insurance agency. The bank closed during the days of the depression and bank holidays.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Hubert Pandorf, of Callaway, Nebraska and a son Edwin Hitchman of Blencoe. A brother, Alec, lives at San Antonio, Texas. Three sisters also survive. They are Mrs. L.P. Walcott, Weeping Water, Nebraska; Mrs. Albert Pool, Elmwood, Nebraska; and Mrs. Ray Clark of Sterling, Kansas.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church at Blencoe, Iowa Thursday, April 2, and interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Lincoln.

Mr. Hitchman's death at Spaulding followed a one-car accident near that place. He had been hospitalized since the accident.
