Hans H. Boe, 76
Hans H Boe, 76 of South Sioux City died Thursday, December 14, 2000 at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 18, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in South Sioux City with the Revs Nancy Tomlinson and Bill Anderson officiating. Military graveside services were held in the Oakland City Cemetery.
Hans H. Boe was born November 28, 1924, in Blair to Hans H. and Elizabeth B. (Bonde) Boe. He graduated from Blair High School in 1942. Mr. Boe served in the US Army during World War II. His awards and decorations include the Purple Heart Medal.
He married Janice F. Fort on October 26, 1947 in Oakland. He as employed as a pipeline welder with Northern Natural Gas (now Enron). The couple lived in Oakland until 1957, when he transferred to South Sioux City. He retired in 1985.
Mr. Boe was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 376 of Dakota City, and Disabled American Veterans, Omadi 5 Masonic 5 Lodge of South Sioux City.
He is survived by his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Debi Boe of Frankford, Indiana, and Perry and Gina Boe of Lincoln, and a son Daniel Boe of New York city; a brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Donna Boe of Blair and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Charlotte in infancy, Hildegard and Cecilia.
Memorials are suggested to the First Lutheran Church in Blair.
Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City was in charge of arrangements.
