Services for Elmer Bondo, 80, of Blair, who died May 24, 1985, at his home, were 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Neola, Iowa.
The Rev. Carl F. Schattauer and Neal Zeilinger officiated and burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Neola.
Bondo was born Dec. 18, 1904, the son of Peter and Alvina Bondo in Underwood, Iowa. He married Ingrid Beck on March 25, 1930 in Trufant, Michigan.
He attended Hazel Dell School and later attended Dana College for two years and Iowa State College for one year.
He farmed in the Underwood area until retiring in 1969 and moving to Blair. He was active in many farm organizations and in the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Bondo is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Harley (Elaine) Rennerfeldt of Blair, Mrs. Milo (Phyllis) Shavlik of North Platte; one son, Paul of South Bend, Indiana; sisters are Mrs. Esther Magnussen, Neola, Iowa; Mrs. Emma Christensen, Iowa City, Iowa and Mrs. Alvina Weismann, Blair, Nebraska; nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Pallbearers were Donald Magnussen, Vernon Magnussen, Dan Shavlik, Irvin Larsen, Arthur Larsen and Calvin Larsen. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Nelson, Donald Ward, Jack Bolliger, Bruce Barnett, Bill Barnett, Ed Hansen, Duane Larsen and Robert Sykes.
Mrs. Clinton Erickson was the organist for the services.
