Word has just been received that Mrs. Martha Standish Boynton, aged 88, direct descendant of Miles Standish, who came to this country in 1620 in the Mayflower, and sister of the late Mrs. Phoebe J. Tepirer of this city, expired last Friday afternoon at her home in Auburn, N.Y., as a result of a fall sustained several weeks ago when her hip was broken, although she has been suffering from infirmities of age.
She leaves one brother, Florentine Standish, who lives in Duluth, Minn. Burial took place Saturday in Auburn, New York, cemetery. Deceased took much interest in genealogical researches and had preserved many valuable records relating to the life in America of the Mayflower Pilgrims.
Mrs. Tepier, who was Mrs. Thos. T. Osterman's grandmother, died here Feb. 26th, at the age of 82 years.
