Matthew Reilly Townsend 17, of Tekamah passed away Monday, April 30, 2018, in rural Tekamah. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018, 10:30 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah.

Matthew Reilly Townsend was born May 15, 2000, in Omaha, Nebraska. Matthew attended elementary school in Tekamah and high school at both Tekamah-Herman and Oakland-Craig high schools.

He was a very happy little boy, always smiling, following his two big brothers and spending time with his sister, Samantha. He enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing and had a fondness for music. Matthew’s greatest love was his son, Grayson.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Zachary Ryan Townsend; grandparents, Gary and Alta Townsend; uncles, Norman and George; aunts, Theanna and Carol.

He is survived by his son, Grayson; expected daughter, Zhavia; parents, Leroy Townsend and Liz Townsend; brother, Nicholas; sister, Samantha; niece, Zaphera; grandparents, Anna and Norm McKenney, Ray and Linda Murphy; uncles, Jim Alexander, Robert Camron, Lance Murphy; great uncle, George Hill; aunts, Linda Sergio, Udith Robinson, Mary Ann Murphy and Anna Murphy.
