Combat Vet, Norman Albrecht, 26, Shoots Himself at Fremont
Say He Threatened Two Before Shooting
A 26-year-old infantry combat veteran and ex-Blairite took his own life Thursday night after threatening two persons with his revolver.
He was Norman J. Albrecht, whose wife is the former Bea m. Eliassen of Blair.
Sheriff Pelham McGee said Albrecht shot himself after threatening the life of the sister of his estranged wife, who last week filed suit for divorce on cruelty grounds, and of Vonley Sallstrom. Albrecht had gone to the home of a sister-in-law where his wife and two children were staying, the sheriff added, and Sallstrom had responded where Mrs. Albrecht had called for help.
A painter, Albrecht was overseas 13 months, serving in Germany, France and Austria.
Survivors include his wife, two children, Charlene-Kay, 5, and Norma Jane, 3; his parents, and three brothers.
