George Arthur Blackstone

G. A. Blackstone died at his home on East South Street last Friday morning of Bright’s Disease, after and illness of about a year’s duration. The funeral was held at the house Sunday afternoon and the body was take to Tekamah, where it was interred under Masonic auspices. Mr. Blackstone was 62 years old and was born in Dodge. Co. Wis. He had lived here in Blair for only about a year, but had lived in Burt County for a good many years, being postmaster at Craig for several years. He is survived by his wife and five children, three sons, Harry of Omaha, George, of Hastings, and Dean of near Craig, also two daughters, Mrs. Dr. Townsend, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. M. Wood, of Tekamah. All the children were present for the funeral service.
#2-8 Sept., 1921 - The Enterprise - George T. Blackstone
George T. Blackstone was born in Wisconsin October 28, 1858. He came to Burt county, this state, when but one year old and spent practically all his life there.
On March 3, 1878 he was married to Miss Alice Parist, and to them five children were born: Mrs. Florence Townsend of Minneapolis; Mrs. Cora Wood of Tekamah; Harry of Omaha; George of Hastings and Dean who is living on the home farm near Craig.
Mr. Blackstone with his wife moved to Blair about a year ago, buying the old Hinchman property on east South street where he died Sept. 2, 1921.
The Masons had charge of the funeral, he being a Mason and a Knight Templar. Rev. Moore of the Presbyterian church of Craig officiated while a male quartette from that place furnished the music. The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, and interment made in the Tekamah cemetery.

AN OLD RESIDENT OF NEBRASKA PASSES AWAY
Geo. A. Blackstone, aged 63 years, passed away at his home in this city on Friday, September 2, 1921 after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held on Sunday at his late home, and the body was taken to Tekamah for interment. Deceased was a member of the Masonic order, a Royal Arch Mason, and a member of the Commandery, and these orders had charge of the burial services.
Mr. Blackstone had lived in Washington county a good many years, and was highly respected. He leaves a widow and several grown children.
