Gust H. Brinkman was born September 14, 1861, and passed out of this life July 13, 1920 at the age of 58 years, 9 months and 28 days.
Mr. Brinkman had been in failing health for the past year and about seven weeks ago went to Excelsior Springs, Mo., with the hope of getting medical aid that would benefit him.
The remains were brought to Arlington and then to the old home six miles northwest of town.
Services were conducted by the Rev. G. W. Wolters at the residence Friday afternoon at one o'clock and one-thirty at the German Lutheran church five miles northwest of Arlington. Interment was made in the cemetery near the church.
Mr. Brinkman was united in marriage to Miss Emma Stork on April 26, 1889, and to this union were born seven children as follows: Five sons, William, Herman, Oscar, John and Henry. Two daughters, Ida and Anna, all of them living at home but Herman.
The sorrowing family and relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their great bereavement.
Mr. Brinkman was an early settler in this county; his father pioneering here with the late Honorable Henry Sprick of Fontanelle.
Gust was a substantial farmer, a good citizen, and a highly respected Christian gentleman, and a man whom it was a pleasure to know. The Enterprise extends its sympathy to the sorrowing family.
